Buy Johnston & Murphy Men's Cardell Chukka Boot
J&M Cardell chukkas are very comfortable, as the XC4 line is designed to be. Some chukkas chafe around the ankle but this one is wonderfully soft right out of the box. Looks great with nice jeans or chinos. Haven't had occasion to test the waterproof feature yet but this certainly works in othe XC4 shoes I own. I wish it aso was available in black!I have a few Johnston & Murphy shoes and needed something for the cold, wet New England winter. These should do the trick.
Caterpillar Men's Beck Mid Lace-Up Boot Review
When I say not so great, I dint mean the look on the shoes. I was talking abt the comfort of the shoe when u wear it.
Though the shoe looks very classic and decent, but the comfort is not so great. When I wore this shoe I felt there was a lump in the middle of my feet, but ignored thinking it was new shoe. but after 4 hours of activity, I felt cramps cuz the sole of the shoe wasn't even on the feet.
This shoe is definetly not for ppl like me who prefers strolling around a lot on the streets on foot rather than take a car .

Men's Hush Puppies GAIN Casual Boots Review
The boots are what I expected and inner sole is cushioned comfortable. Only negative I have is the cut of the boot is a little low does rub my cafes (I have large cafes) when walking great distances. These are nice designed dress boots that are water proof. I am going to test them in the snow (while on vacation)tomorrow. The rubber soles should do well on ice and snow (will see).
-Easy slip-on design
-Great looking
-Extremely lite
-Waterproof
-Great quality material as I have no visual creases and scuffs and such. I guess its soft leather but of high quality. And yes I do wear these on a daily basis.
Cons:
-Well I do find these very comfy, BUT when standing in one spot for a very long time (like I do when riding the trains in NYC) my feet start to hurt. But when I am in motion walking (and I walk a lot) I have no problem with its comfort level.
Apparently not. The problem seems to be in the toes. The heel and zipper are fine. I guess the water comes in through the seams on the top of the shoe.

If you are going to walk around in light rain from the parking lot to the office, they might be classfied as "waterproof". But for those of us who have to walk a few blocks, this is most definitely not waterproof. I live in new york. I walk to work. Most rainy days, the sidewalk drainage is blocked by leaves and/or garbage, so you have to go out of your way to avoid puddles. I figured with this boot I could take that in stride.Apparently not. The problem seems to be in the toes. The heel and zipper are fine. I guess the water comes in through the seams on the top of the shoe.

Saddle shoes coming in all color combinations should be the standard for casual high style. They come from an era of simplicity and innocense . These particular shoes, Florsheim Men's Kennett Oxford are true to size and are of quality construction. As I get older I want both nostalgia and style and thes have it.

Reviews of To Boot New York Men's Winston Oxford
Love them so far. I needed one piece shiny black shoes that could double for formals ( I WILL NOT wear patent ) and they hit the mark. The leather is extremely soft which is nice because the tracks are barely noticeable when they break in (which only took till lunch on the first day) so a little polish and they transform into formal evening ready.
I ordered these shoes in brown over a few years ago. They took a week to break in, but were good-looking, aside from some leather creases in the usual places, very nice shoes...
...but only for less than a year.
I wore these shoes every other weekday, walking in the city for about 15 minutes every day. In 11 months, the leather on the soles had worn so thin, the stitching having completely worn away, that a hole appeared and split open the bottom of the left shoe. The right shoe was just about getting there. I don't expect this to happen for a shoe of this price.
I contacted To Boot NY's customer service and was told to contact the seller, Amazon.
Fortunately, Amazon agreed to replace the shoe. Unfortunately, the replacement pair sent to me had ugly crease marks around the tongue of one of the shoes, and note that the replacement pair was newly out-of-the-box.
I shipped the replacement pair back to Amazon and they sent me a third pair, which looked nice and flawless enough. But I soon discovered how flawed they were. The top of the left shoe had about half a centimeter less of leather, making it tight around my left toe. I found it hard to get my foot in the shoe at the beginning, and the problem persists after a month of wearing it. Because there was less leather space at the top, a series of harsh creases appeared on the left shoe, ruining its appearance. Every time I bend my foot, the crease bends into the top of my foot, creating a painful callus.
I was very disappointed in the quality of these 300+ dollar shoes and do not recommend them. Despite how nice they looked, they either broke, were defective, or hurt me.

These are a very nice brown leather matching the photo well. A bit of darker dye on the toe. The craftsmanship is great and the leather is very supple. I feel they fit true to size. Pricey, but if you're looking for a high quality Italian shoe with classic styling this looks like a good one. The color and style make it a purchase you'll be able to use for many years.Honest reviews on To Boot New York Men's Winston Oxford

Vintage Shoe Company Lilly Reviews
Was excited to see women's chukkas in a natural (tobacco) leather and promptly purchased in October 2010 from EB.
Let's talk about the good:
The fact that Vintage makes their shoes in the U.S. is a huge bonus. They're distressed (if you like that look), , conspicuously cool, finely handcrafted/sewn, evenly tanned, and constructed perfectly with ample wooden sole and heel. After a year of schlepping, they have held up very well indeed. I recently replaced the leather with red boot laces hoping that I'd wear them more.
The BAD:
Not comfortable in any way. In this day and age, manufacturers have inexpensive ways to improve the support and comfort of a shoe by simply adding an insole. This insole/midsole is virtually non existent....so bad, my knees and feet ache after a short night in them. I can almost never wear them to work anymore unless it's a mostly "at-desk-and-sitting" kind of day.
The very bad:
WAY too narrow, and about .5 1 size small across the toe area, yet too wide in the upper. If I tighten the laces to where they fit for a fast pace, then the toe area is excruciating. YES, when they fist arrived, they felt tight, and reviewers mentioned they ran small -although most everyone wears boots with socks, which I do not, meaning tight doesn't always pertain to how they fit on me. And since the seller never mentioned the size issue, I went with a 10, which is my running shoe size. I have Frye engineers which are a 9.5 and they're loose. Over time, almost every leather boot widens and loosens, so I figured these would as well. Here to tell you, after a year and 2 months, this is just not so. These girls do not get bigger, except in the upper.
I tried widening myself with rolled up socks, then tennis balls, and finally softballs. I will next try the shoe repair dude who claims he can stretch leather, but I really shouldn't have to.
I am stuck with a VERY expensive, ill fitting, uncomfortable chukka that does one thing well.....it looks good. Shoulda woulda coulda got the Frye Carson or James.
UPDATE #1: tried to cobble it myself by inserting and applying pressure to the handle of a rubber mallet over the areas which were too tight. kinda worked. i'm tired though. that was hard work. but, i should say if i do this a few more times, add leather shoe conditioner to the interior, they just might stretch to where i can insert insoles and make them wearable.
UPDATE #2: the boots are reborn! the local (Italian) cobbler stretched these to perfection. AND, i asked him to install a thin hiker sole (women's style, so not heavy in any way) to the bottom rather than the leather bottom layer that had worn off the toes. they have become super comfy with this $35 upgrade (stretching was included in that cost). and now that they have stretched, they have literally become wider from wearing the way leather is intended. i just hadn't worn them enough to allow it to happen. also used Snow Seal boot wax to prevent water/snow from penetrating in anticipation of a long lasting love affair to blossom.I have these in three different leathers. However, there is a break in period! They do run about 1/2 size small and narrow. I have stretched mine out and can wear them comfortably now however it was painful! I am at the size 11 so can't go up. But I did find a very similar style in mens, the bluff. It runs large compared, actually went down a half size in them and they fit wonderfully!! That said they are very nicely made each individual so shoes might differ slightly! Nice leather and craftmanship, and best of all Made in the USA!

I purchased these for my 14 year old daughter. Combat boots are in style right now and we couldn't find a decent pair at the mall for a good price. Found these online for $40! Other stores were way more than that for non-name brand. Her only complaint is that the fur on the inside can be seen when she wears them over her jeans. Other than that, she loves them!

Cheap BED:STU Men's Patriot Boot
after looking at amazon and zappos for a while i came across this pair a few days ago and went for it. i think they're a brand new model for this brand as i haven't even seen this on their site.
at first i was unsure about the sizing and construction, as they're made in china, but they're actually a pretty good pair of boots for the price relatively lightweight, flexible and smooth, rich leather the leather itself may fall just a bit on the thin side, but it's well-conditioned and seems fairly durable. they seem pretty true to size (perhaps a 1/4 size larger, but nothing a pair of insoles can't make up plus more cushion).
the best part is that there's really no break-in time. they're totally wearable out of the box. good inside padding makes for a good, supportive fit they're easy on one's feet pretty soft and comfortable. the rubber soles provide good traction, but they're not at all bulky or heavy like you see on some other boots with a similar look.
as far as the color/texture goes, they're just a bit shinier than pictured here on amazon (not matte like they appear in the photo), but retain that same nice deep dark brown color.
i guess i'll have to wear these for a few weeks to see how they turn out, but i'm happy overall with this purchase.
decent price and pretty good quality.
The first impression of the boot was that it's a little rough. What I mean by that is, the first thing I tried to do was unzip it to toss it on. It's not a completely smooth operation. One of the boots had the zipper crowded by the surrounding leather so that kept interfering, the other was just rather stiff and 'dry' taking a little effort to zip/unzip. You could take that as a hit and toss a little grease on the zipper, or you consider that intentional and assume it'll help the zipper stay up during normal use. I'm not sure what I make of it yet but I'm sure it'll loosen a little through normal wear. Second impression was the great leather used. It's so soft to the touch and almost buttery, like a nice designer leather wallet that's broken in. The inside is lined with a very basic mesh like any athletic shoes, just a very thin layer of it; better than unfinished. Next thing I noticed was the somewhat dry/stiff laces which are the typical round, woven, but don't seem like they'll withstand the elements without breaking(like most boot laces). Also the holes, where the laces go through the boot, are just punched holes like with a belt not eyelets, so they drag and have some friction to them. Maybe it'll make for a better tight lacing, but it also adds effort and wear to lacing them up. One disclaimer about the leather itself: BED:STU boasts using organic(naturally tanned) leather so the color consistency and true grain will reflect that. Additionally, there are "no plastic or synthetic coatings" which might be a good heads up when wearing/taking care of these boots. When I first put the boots on, I was sure the single side zipper wasn't' going to be of any use because I had to untie and loosen all laces to slide it on fully. After wearing it for a few hours though and taking it off and putting it back on, the zipper did it's job and made it possible without having to mess with the laces.
As far as the fit, it's a narrow boot with a normal, wide in comparison, tip. I felt a little strange at first as it hugged my foot so well and then gave me that extra space and comfort at the front of my foot, but I guess that's helpful in determining the kind of pants to wear with this. The feel of it hugging my foot in the right places and having the more comfortable fit up front was appreciated as my foot technically measures wide(Brannock scale) but I usually only but normal width. Reviewer "CEE" mentioned that sizing was possibly 1/4 size larger and I'd have to say I agree with that. I did have room up front and with the silhouette wanted as little extra as possible, but I don't think I could have gone down 1/2 size without issues. I wear a 9.5(M) in Dockers Boots/Sandals and 10 in Asics, M42 in Vibram FF can't remember any others right now. I purchased 9.5(M) in these BED:STU Patriots and am happy with them. There is a thin plastic or maybe hardened leather structure in the toe cup, where a steel toe usually is, and I only mention it for people that might consider sizing down. I'm not cure if this would cut down into your toes when walking. On my initial try-on of these boots I work them 3 hours just casual walking around and occasional sitting breaks. While the heel and mid foot felt fine, nothing outstanding, the ball of my foot did feel a little sensitivity to the ground, actually harder than my Vibrams FF. I'm not sure if that's a breaking in detail or something I might not notice with continued wear, or a potential issue down the line. The traction on the sole of the boot is 3mm at the end of the front traction(arch)and 1mm on all the rest of the tread/shingles.
I guess the bottom line for me was that I did buy my boots on sale and the fit was good, the fashion is nice, and the leather is great. That being said, I'd say they are more of a fashion boot, the laces, the seams, the coarse zipper, thin leather, with no considerable tread I wouldn't make a daily wear out of them unless I was constantly mindful of those facts, and I wouldn't go stomping around in them and treating them like...a boot. The sole, at this point is definitely less comfortable than Dockers boots, Dr Martens, and Bates, but comparable to a dress shoe or maybe something from Aldos.
Keep in mind this review is based on first impressions and an initial wear as I just got them today. So some of the variables and concerns might change through further use.
If you're looking for some costume quality boots that you will not wear too often or for anything active, then these might be ok. If you want quality workmanship that will stand up to daily use, look elsewhere.

First off I bought these at the 6PM(Zappos affiliate) shoe store, but only because they were cheaper there and had better pictures, my preference is Amazon. I'm assuming they come from the same supplier as Amazon, in either case it's sold out on the other site now so I'm writing my review here to hopefully help out.The first impression of the boot was that it's a little rough. This is the second Bed:Stu product I've owned, and it pretty much jives with my previous experiences. I got some shoes a while back that fell apart within 9 months, and then I replaced them with the Sketchers "knock off" version. That imitation is still holding up two years later. These boots, I can tell, will be no different. From a distance, they appear to be of much higher quality than one would expect for the price I paid. Upon closer examination, they seem cheap and mass produced. The leather is thin and rigid in a plastic-like way, and the stitching looks like it wouldn't last through a rough winter. I purchased some other boots in the same price range, and they're much better quality. If you're looking for some costume quality boots that you will not wear too often or for anything active, then these might be ok. If you want quality workmanship that will stand up to daily use, look elsewhere.

Every man needs a good boot in their collection. These won't break the bank. Over 6 inches high...and with a zipper on either side the laces are for decoration! Huge time saver using the zipper and NOT using the laces. Came a little faded and a weathered sole. The boots looked broken in and a little aged...which is the perfect look i wanted with well broken in faded jeans.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for BED:STU Men's Patriot Boot
I bought the teak and black and really like these boots. Not the same quality as my Frye boots but for the price they are great. What I'm curious about is what shoe polish to use on the Teak boots. I've looked everywhere and there is no such thing as teak shoe polish. I'm sure some kind of brown will work but not sure what shade.Sunday, February 23, 2014

These Bates are as usual: very good looking and superbly comfortable, I have had a very good experience with mine, the last ones broke when they were 6 years old. They did the job well. I am very pleased.Best Deals for Bates Men'sLites E00053 Work Chukka

The shoe is a nice looking shoe and is represented well by the photos. I've been looking for a nice Chucka-boot but I refuse to pay the 185 to 250 for those of a better perceived
quality. I'm not a huge fan of the crepe type rubber soles, but they are comfortable.
I've always been 11 1/2 in shoe size but I've recently had my foot fitted and I'm a twelve....at least the right foot is.
I purchase the 11 1/2 and they fit fine AND the width medium is also a true fit.
GOOD LOOKING...Overall, leather quality not bad at all.
My take. THOUGH 85 dollars isn't cheap...The MADDEN'S are not 250 dollars.
I'm happy with the purchase.
Nice for the Price.
They are a good looking shoe but I can tell that I will not get a lot of life out of them.
I wish I would have taken the $50 bucks I paid for these and added that money toward a more superior/ higher quality pair of shoes like Ecco or Johnston & Murphy.
I want to stress this review is of no ill reflection on Amazon but to the Steve Madden shoe.
Thank you.

I bought these shoes due to the fact I liked the way they looked and the price. I have worn them 2 times (in doors) and they are already showing signs of wear with stress in the leather and in the heels. They are a good looking shoe but I can tell that I will not get a lot of life out of them.

I got these for a great price, so that helps. They are taking a little bit of time to break in, but overall they have a great fit.Honest reviews on Steve Madden Men's Harken Chukka Boot
The shoe is as advertised. The fit is just about right and it really looks good. I have already worn them on a long business trip and did notice a bit of chaffing on the left heal and some tightness in the toe area. The use of shoe trees with the back of the shoe folded in has taken care of the chaffing. I cut off the front part of the liner which took care of he toe area tightness.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Steve Madden Men's Harken Chukka Boot
Received order on time! Was happy about that. The color of the boot looks a little bit lighter on the picture. The reason why I gave it one star is because one of the boots looked like it had been worn already! the left one had a big crease..the bottom was worn out and boot itself was dirty!Discount IPATH Cat Hi Shearling Men's Chukka Boots Wallabee Vibram Sole

Crocs Unisex Classic Clog Reviews
First, let me offer the following personal research before I rave about the cros cayman/classic. In my opinion Amazon.com is the best place to shop and to read reviews prior to purchasing, particularly when looking for the 'cons' in a particular product. I have found that my negative feedback about a particular style croc did not get published on the croc website, and I think that is grossly unfair to the consumer. That implies to me that they are more interested in selling their product than listening to consumer complaints and thus modifying or correcting/improving their product. What you may or may not know is that crocs are manufactured in several different countries including Italy, Mexico, Canada, and here in the US, and that sizes and material used between styles vary greatly.I have done a great deal of research about children's footwear, and unanimously pediatricians say "barefoot is best" because the bones in children's feet are soft and growing until they are 13, if I remember correctly. However, footwear is necessary to protect feet from the elements or from injury. When shopping for crocs or any other shoe for our granddaughter, the very first thing I do is to pick up the shoe and try to flex the sole. If it is 'stiff as a board' it will impact the way your child walks. I have personally tested this with our granddaughter, and this is what I found: With a soft, flexible sole she can walk normally in a striding motion, exercising the foot and leg, which is critical to muscle development in the foot and leg. With a hard, inflexible sole, she didn't walk normally--rather she picked up her feet and set them down in a 'clomping' gait. Not good. You won't go wrong with the crocs Cayman/Classic, imo. I purchased these crocs classics in pearl white for our 2 year old granddaughter, and she has worn these for everyday almost exclusively this summer--they are that good. What I love about the Crocs Cayman Classic is the soft, flexible material used, thus making it a soft, flexible shoe--particularly the sole--perfect for growing feet. Equally important are all the vents around the perimiter of the shoe, allowing adequate ventilation which is important in a shoe made of manmade materials. This shoe is easy to clean and still looks almost brand new. This particular croc 'runs large'. Our granddaughter wears an 8/9 in this style, but an 8/9 in a couple of the other styles was smaller. There are two other styles in crocs that you couldn't give me because of the material used, the inflexibility, and the lack of ventilation. I won't mention those here because I am critiquing the cayman classic. I contacted crocs to express my concern about the differences in material used and was told that the best solution was to visit a store that sells crocs and to personally examine them. That is my advice to you. If you aren't in proximity to anyone who sells crocs, I would order the crocs Cayman/Classic. I'm even ordering this style for winter wear. For any other croc style, I would order from a vendor who accepts returns.
UPDATE: JANUARY 31, 2013: Still buying these crocs, and our granddaughter is approaching the 12/13 size. I still give this croc rave reviews.
"LIGHTWEIGHT & COMFORTABLE"
This is probably the most attractive feature of the CROC, because it adds to the comfort and makes you feel like you're walking on air. By far the most comfortable things I've ever worn and I'm a picky shoe person. I have only owned 1 pair of sandals for the past 6 years and have hated every other sandal I've tried on, so these CROCS are definitely special.
"CONVERTIBLE"
You can turn the "sandal" into a "shoe" simply by pushing forward the strap. In "shoe" mode, it's a tighter more snug fit, so you don't have to worry about it coming off your feet. In "sandal" mode, it's easy to slip on and off (although it has a tendency to cling to the bottom of your feet), for that quick trip outside to take out the trash, or pick up your cell phone that you left in the car.
PROBLEM: "SWEATY FEET"
One problem I have with the CROC is that it doesn't ventilate very well. Sure, it's got holes. But the material is such that it traps heat so you're feet end up sweating in warm weather.
PROBLEM: "HOLES ALLOW DEBRIS IN"
Another problem is that the holes allow all sorts of debris into the sandal while you're walking, such as loose rocks, wood chips at the playground, sand and dirt (when you're not at the beach), and rain water (puddles in the parking lot). This means that you're feet get dirty rather quickly and can be uncomfortable at places where there is a lot of debris eg, playgrounds.
"SIZE & PRICE"
Sizing is a bit weird. I'd recommend going to a store first to try it on and see what size you are. It's hard to find a good selection at a store, so it's best just to dip in for sizing and then purchase the one you want on Amazon. Turned out to be the best thing for me, as I was able to score Army Green Caymans from Amazon, while searching at numerous stores I've only been able to find blue and black Caymans in sizes way too big. For $29.99 I think it's a bit pricey actually, but if you're picky about sandals like me, there's nothing you can do about it.
"STYLE"
One other thing you'll have to get used to is how aesthetically disgusting it is. Let's be frank: it's a damn ugly shoe and there's no way getting around it. It's not the prettiest thing to wear, but it's hands-down the most comfortable. Just be careful where you tread. Definitely not an all-terrain/purpose sandal. Good for beach and casual sidewalk/short trip walking.
"DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BEACH AND CAYMAN STYLES"
None. Except that the sizes for Beach version are "ranges" and are more roomy for your feet. Cayman sizes are exact and are more narrow. Try on before you buy as the versions are not the same.
I liked them so much I ordered these Caymans for myself. Amazing support for "difficult" feet. I wear them whenever I'm not in my work shoes. I may look somewhat foolish (they're marketed at a much lower age bracket than myself), but I'm comfortable so I don't care.

I ordered two pairs of Crocs one pair of thongs and one pair of cayman crocs. I used the sizing chart provided and ordered both pairs in M5/W7. However, when they arrived, while the Thongs fit perfectly, with room to wiggle, the Caymans were way too small (I'd almost say a full size too small). The Thongs were "made in China" and the Caymans "made in Mexico". I went to my local store and discovered that they receive Croc orders which are often made in multiple countries. It would appear to me that there is no "standard" mold used. So beware just because you have tried them on in a store and think you have the correct size you may end up getting a larger or smaller size, depending on where they are manufactured.Best Deals for Crocs Unisex Classic Clog
At first I didn't know what to make of this shoe/sandal... it's lightweight, comfortable and "convertible", which is a nice feature that I've never seen in a sandal before. First, I'll break down the benefits, then give the low-points."LIGHTWEIGHT & COMFORTABLE"

I love these things. My daughter (who's in the medical field)turned me on to these. She, as do I, has a need for arch support because they're so high. She also knew my arches has been falling due to age (I'm in my late forties)and I need inserts in my work shoes. She's been wearing her pair since last fall (2006) and picked me up some of the Croc "glides?" in March.I liked them so much I ordered these Caymans for myself. Amazing support for "difficult" feet. I bought navy blue size 8 in mens because they didn't have size 10 navy blue womans and they fit perfect. The nice colors are hard to come by especially this time of year. Amazon was handy for that because they do the looking for you. I would definately buy these shoes if your looking for comfort and easy on and off shoes, they're great on uneven terrain. As far as looks, they grown on you!Minnetonka Men's 783 Chukka Boot Reviews
I purchaced these boots to go with a custom made Assassin's Creed 3 Connor Kenway costume. If I had any advise I'd say to order them one half size bigger than what your actual size is.I ordered the men's size ten, but received a men's 11 instead. The box said men's size ten, the shoe shows size 11. However, I will be wearing these in colder climates, they are not insulated at all, so being a size bigger allows me to wear heavy wool socks in place of any sort of insulation. These are absolutely not cold weather boots, more like spring or summer boots. If you're looking to wear these in the winter, buy a size larger so you can double up your socks or wear heavy wool socks, otherwise your feet will Freeeeeze!! So this is what I like to call a happy mistake, and I hope this helps anyone looking to buy these boots for what ever season, and I hope you get the size that suits your needs. Over all I am satisfied with the quality of the boot, minus the lack of any insulation, just one layer of the thin suede leather.
