Not the best quality, a little wide for being a narrow size, but a good heel height. An okay boot for wearing around, but I'm glad to take them off after a day of wearing them.

I bought the cherry red tan boots as a gift for my daughter. She has been wearing them 3-4 times a week. They work well with skirts, pants or leggings. They are adorable, and really look great with neutrals like beige, gray and black. She bought arch supports and said that made "a world of difference". There was a breaking in period because of the stiff durable leather, but she did not get blisters. She is very pleased with them and they will last for years.

I really like the look of these and the leather seems nice and supple.

Have worn them for two separate days and the scraping of my achilles tendon is a dealbreaker.

I suppose they could "break in" but I prefer to keep my skin on my body. Comfort was not taken into account I have to say...

I've owned Steve Madden shoes before, so I knew what to expect. The boot took a few days of breaking in so that I didn't have to fight to get into it, but that was expected with a new slip on boot. After wearing them around for a few days they were well broken in and are now easy to get on and off.

I bought these right before a trip to London and Paris to use as my primary shoe for walking around both cities and they worked perfectly. Not too heavy as to weigh my feet down, but with plenty of support and a good sole so that spending hours on my feet exploring the city with my wife was no worries (especially when it rained and she was jealous of my boots while she had on tiny, soleless shoes).

Boots look amazing and have a natural/rugged look to them. However, would not recommend for working/walking with out buying a different sole. For normal width feet if you plan to get them for leisure go half size small as they run large. Otherwise if you will use them for work/walking and need a sole get them your normal size.

Buy Johnston & Murphy Men's Cardell Chukka Boot

J&M Cardell chukkas are very comfortable, as the XC4 line is designed to be. Some chukkas chafe around the ankle but this one is wonderfully soft right out of the box. Looks great with nice jeans or chinos. Haven't had occasion to test the waterproof feature yet but this certainly works in othe XC4 shoes I own. I wish it aso was available in black!
