Shoe is not tall and rocks easily enter the top. Guess I need to get some gators to fix that.

These boots are fantastic, I have owned several pair of boots from other boot makers and I always come back to Rocky! by far one of the better boot makers out there. These boots are very comfortable, stylish, look great with blue jeans and feel light as a feather. Would very much recommend these if your in the market for a everyday pair of boots.

J&M Cardell chukkas are very comfortable, as the XC4 line is designed to be. Some chukkas chafe around the ankle but this one is wonderfully soft right out of the box. Looks great with nice jeans or chinos. Haven't had occasion to test the waterproof feature yet but this certainly works in othe XC4 shoes I own. I wish it aso was available in black!

I have a few Johnston & Murphy shoes and needed something for the cold, wet New England winter. These should do the trick.

These shoes are far more beautiful in person than the photos suggest. The leather is soft to the touch, a beautiful color, nicely flexible, and the distressing tastefully done (at least on the pair I received). I like that they are a more solid version of a chukka, and have a 1" heel to boot.

However, the threads of the stitching on the sole are not cut into the leather, so if you did not immediately take the shoes to a cobbler to have a rubber sole put on, I think the threads would wear through quickly. The pair was also far larger than I expected, even though I consulted the Bed:Stu website's size chart before ordering. I usually wear a 39-40 or 9.5/10 depending on the manufacturer, and this 9.5 seemed as much as a whole size too large, in width and length, though this is untested. Although I like the shoes aesthetically, I won't be reordering in my size, mainly due to the stitching on the sole and what that suggests about the shoe's overall construction and design.
