It wasn't long after receiving my highly anticipated order of Allen Edmonds Amok tan suede boots, that my feeling of excitement, turned to to disappointment. I tried on the boots in the house and walked around, it felt a little snug. My feeling was that they are suede and will loosen up over time. I could't wait to wear my new boots out. The opportunity presented itself when my wife said that we had a function to attend. When the leather hit the concrete, that's when I felt how these boots were made. I instantly felt a pain in the footbed of my right foot , 3 inches from my small toe. I thought maybe a pebble had gotten into my boot. I took it off and inspected it. Everything looked fine, but the pain continued. I finally figured out that whatever was causing the pain was coming from beneath the footbed. Then the boots started squeaking every time I walked. Between the pain and the squeaking, I had to stop wearing them. I am so disappointed with these boots.

I ordered these chukkas about 4 weeks ago and instantly loved the look and feel of them on my feet. I had found the perfect unlined chukka boot! However, about 3 weeks later both heels started squeaking rather loudly when I walked. I went on-line and found similar reviews from others who had purchased these boots and soon discovered the squeaking flaw. So, I contacted Allen Edmonds about the issue and they told me to mail the boots in to them so they could take a look.
Once they received the boots, I got an email saying that they are a discontinued style and the only thing they could do was offer me an Allen Edmonds gift card for the amount I paid for the boots. Considering they don't currently offer a comparable model of chukka boot, this option isn't really appealing to me. It's just really disappointing that what I thought was a reputable shoe company would allow people to purchase these boots (albeit from a third party vendor), discover the serious flaw, and then tell them there is nothing they can do to fix it. Even though the boots were discounted, what I paid for them is no small amount. Offering a gift card when there is no comparable boot offered to replace them with isn't an acceptable option to me. Fix the freaking squeak and re-release the boot. What's the problem with that?

Beautiful color.Gorgeous looking Boot. Really lovely formalish or casual wear boot with anything. But OMG overrated for the price. even on sale. Super thin material & I know my pinky will wear through in no time. And unfortunately quite a sloppy, slipping fit at the back when walking. In the end very disappointed

I was excited to see this shoe on Amazon at a sale price and in my size. The only problem is that they developed a squeak in the heel on one side almost immediately. Not crazy about having to send them to Allen Edmonds to get this fixed. I have read many reviews of Allen Edmonds shoes and I see this issue often. I may just risk having my local cobbler work on them. They are nice, though.

Allen Edmonds is finally getting it together. The old look may still be needed somewhere, and "Made in The USA" is important, and it's nice to get a good price, so I might have to get rid of some of my other shoes.
