It wasn't long after receiving my highly anticipated order of Allen Edmonds Amok tan suede boots, that my feeling of excitement, turned to to disappointment. I tried on the boots in the house and walked around, it felt a little snug. My feeling was that they are suede and will loosen up over time. I could't wait to wear my new boots out. The opportunity presented itself when my wife said that we had a function to attend. When the leather hit the concrete, that's when I felt how these boots were made. I instantly felt a pain in the footbed of my right foot , 3 inches from my small toe. I thought maybe a pebble had gotten into my boot. I took it off and inspected it. Everything looked fine, but the pain continued. I finally figured out that whatever was causing the pain was coming from beneath the footbed. Then the boots started squeaking every time I walked. Between the pain and the squeaking, I had to stop wearing them. I am so disappointed with these boots.

I ordered these chukkas about 4 weeks ago and instantly loved the look and feel of them on my feet. I had found the perfect unlined chukka boot! However, about 3 weeks later both heels started squeaking rather loudly when I walked. I went on-line and found similar reviews from others who had purchased these boots and soon discovered the squeaking flaw. So, I contacted Allen Edmonds about the issue and they told me to mail the boots in to them so they could take a look.

Once they received the boots, I got an email saying that they are a discontinued style and the only thing they could do was offer me an Allen Edmonds gift card for the amount I paid for the boots. Considering they don't currently offer a comparable model of chukka boot, this option isn't really appealing to me. It's just really disappointing that what I thought was a reputable shoe company would allow people to purchase these boots (albeit from a third party vendor), discover the serious flaw, and then tell them there is nothing they can do to fix it. Even though the boots were discounted, what I paid for them is no small amount. Offering a gift card when there is no comparable boot offered to replace them with isn't an acceptable option to me. Fix the freaking squeak and re-release the boot. What's the problem with that?

Beautiful color.Gorgeous looking Boot. Really lovely formalish or casual wear boot with anything. But OMG overrated for the price. even on sale. Super thin material & I know my pinky will wear through in no time. And unfortunately quite a sloppy, slipping fit at the back when walking. In the end very disappointed

I was excited to see this shoe on Amazon at a sale price and in my size. The only problem is that they developed a squeak in the heel on one side almost immediately. Not crazy about having to send them to Allen Edmonds to get this fixed. I have read many reviews of Allen Edmonds shoes and I see this issue often. I may just risk having my local cobbler work on them. They are nice, though.

Allen Edmonds is finally getting it together. The old look may still be needed somewhere, and "Made in The USA" is important, and it's nice to get a good price, so I might have to get rid of some of my other shoes.

I LOVE THIS SHOE !!! It runs a little small. I recommend to order a 1/2 size up or a full size if wearing thick socks. Appropiate for office and everyday wear. Looks amazing with wide leg or flair jeans and knee length skirts.

Purchased my usual size 7 & they fit a little tight with thin socks, but not a problem. They are a bit high, not a problem for me, but if you're not used to wearing anything over 5" these will make it a challenge for you. Very cute & will make you feel like a model.

Received as a gift. Stylish and comfy shoes. They do run a little big. I normally wear a size 6.5 or 7 depending on the maker. But these are slightly bigger than a normal size 7. It doesn't matter much because they are very comfortable and I just tie the shoe laces tighter which helps. I love them!

These shoes run big. Super comfy, and so far are keeping my feet warm and dry, but they are roomy in the toes. I went back on line, to see if they run in half sizes, but they don't. I debated sending them back, and getting the whole size smaller, but I worried that they would be too small, and didn't want to risk it.

I have been buying this model for more than a decade because of its durability and comfort as a semi-dress, non-formal work shoe. I currently have two pairs that I was seeking to replace because of heel wear.

The new shoes were not at all like my previous pairs. The lasts are too stiff, and the soles are made of cheap plastic rather than very durable rubber (I think my first pairs of these had vibram soles).

I decided to send them back. Amazon declined to pay shipping because I said it was an "unexpected style" issue. I would like to dispute this, but I don't know where to do that.

These shoes are very comfortable, and pass the test for a long day on one's feet. The waterproofing appears to be effective. The only complaint I had was that the shoes in person appear much less formal than I had anticipated based on the picture shown. They are not as appropriate a fit for my business casual attire as I had hoped.

While this shoe is extremely comfortable and handsome but its quality and durability is extremely awful. The bottom sole appears to be made of soft rubber eraser and thread were completely worn out after 8 months! The upper leather started to peal off as well. All I did was walking around the office, never once did I abuse them. And I weight at just 185 lbs so that shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't recommend this shoe at this price. At this price, they should be made to last at least 2 years. They should've replaced the bottom sole with polyurethane material instead of rubber. I'm not pleased with the price I paid for this pair.

I've owned these for just under a year. At first they were very comfortable. However the sole wore out very quickly and unevenly and began giving me knee problems (granted I'm 6'5 + 225 lbs). Switched shoes and the knee problems went away within a couple of days. However I am planning to purchase a second pair because I hate shoe shopping and I know these are very comfortable and will give me about 6-months wear.

I got these for mostly walking outdoors and for standing and walking around downtown Chicago. These are very comfortable and have great arch support. Based on the reviews, I ordered a whole size down (normally wear a 9 so I got an 8) and they fit ever so slightly tight, but I think to most this would be called a "perfect fit". I think I would have preferred 8.5 but I already started wearing them and didn't feel like going through a return process. I am sure they will break in and stretch out a little bit. Love the comfort and the waterproof feature. Can't beat the price anywhere.

I was looking for a pair of shoes that I could wear to work & would look good with khakis or jeans-these fit the bill!. I did follow other reviewers recommendations & bought them a 1/2 size smaller than my actual size. Glad I did...there is still plenty of "toe room" even with the smaller size. They are a little narrower fit than my usual shoes...these fit more like a boot than a say, a loafer, but still comfortable after a day of walking around. Had them for a week now & I would definitely buy them again.
