This is a decent shoe, but it wasn't what I expected. The first problem is that this brand seems to run large. I ordered my shoe size based on their shoe sizing chart. I wear a size 11 in every other brand and their chart shows that a size 11 should be 11" from heel to toe. However, when the shoe arrived it was huge. I had a full extra 1" to 1.5" in the toe area. I got the ruler out and measured the shoe to actually be 12.5" from outer toe to outer heel. So you need to order at least a half size smaller than your your typical shoe size. This problem alone was enough to have to send it back, but my other problem was the material the shoe was made of. I order this shoe in the navy. It is made of leather which is nice, but the way they've treated it gives it an uber smooth almost shiney finish. Worn under jeans, it looks more like a plastic rain boot.

I bought these on a whim and I love them. Really comfortable and look great (plain but not boring). I also think they're waterproof bc my feet never get wet when walking in the snow.

I only paid 56$ for this amazing pair of shoes!!! They fit perfectly as I have tried them in the store and knew my exact size...

first...it took a while to get here...almost too long...though they told me this...the back of the shoes gave me blisters...so this make me hesitant to wear them...I thought the shoes would have bit thicker soles.

I wanted a simple leather boot that would go with casual wear & these definitely fit the bill. I love the look of these they are a nice clean classic style. They are definitely up to the standard of Clark's high quality and the beeswax leather looks very nice (pretty much how it looks in the pictures). I found them to need some break in before they got comfortable though (I ordered my normal size and medium width) they were snug across the ball of the foot initially, but after wearing them a few times this improved a lot. I definitely can't wear thick socks with them though. The crepe sole was not as cushy as I thought it would be, but it's not that bad really. Time will tell how durable the sole is, but the leather seems like a good quality. Overall once you get them worn in a bit and conformed to your foot, these are a pretty nice stylish boot.

Give 'em a chance to break in and you won't be disappointed. I debated buying these boots after reading the reviews, and almost sent them back when I got them. I was immediately irritated when putting these on. They cut into the top of my foot above my toes, and I thought 'well these suck' and then I remembered reading in the reviews that they needed to be broken in so I gave it a try. I've only worn these boots two days and they are no longer cutting into the top of my foot. They are lightweight and the tread gets great traction and doesn't get dirty as easily as I thought. The sole is a bit hard for my taste, but they don't make my feet hurt at the end of the day like some of the other boots I've purchased. They go with just about everything and even in a size 10 they don't look ridiculously big like some boots. I would say they fit true to size.

I bought these Clark shoes because I used to wear them almost 40 years ago and wanted

to see if they were as comfortable now as then. When they arrived I put them on and went for a 2 mile walk. I bought the size I would always buy, I did not do as some say and go a .5 size smaller. They felt fine to me and more comfortable then I recalled. Glad I remembered the desert boot!!

I've read a lot of different things about the sizing of these shoes, so I really think you should try them on before you buy. I bought my true size, which is 7 (I can even do 71/2 sometimes), and they are a little big, and they also make my feet LOOK big. I have big feet for my height (I am 5'1), so I don't like shoes that make my feet look even bigger than normal shoes. I do like the look/style, and the quality is good, but I do agree with other reviewers that for Clarks, they seem to lack comfort. I wish there was more cushioning.

The boots are lovely, classic, and well made. The only complaint I have would be that they are incredibly tough to break in. So much so that one of my heels is bruised. They are quite comfortable in other areas, and once they are broken into there are no problems. No foot/heel is the same, so I highly recommend them.
