I bought these shoes last winter after waiting until they went on sale. I could not decide

between the brown or black so got both. I waited to review these until I wore them a while.

The sole is a very comfortable rubber and the heel height is just right. They look great with

jeans and if there are any pairs left out there do not hesitate to buy them because they will

be great shoes. F.Y.I...they are not shiny or slick leather but a sort of suede-ish leather

that is best for casual wear because it kind of looks a little scuffy.

I love this brown shoe but runs a little wide. I ordered the black in a narrow and it fits perfectly. This shoe is a "must have"! Looks great with jeans or a casual pant.

For whatever reason the folks at Timberland did not put real rubber on the entire bottom of these shoes. In those areas where the rubber is not real (some sort of softer rubber that is not fit for the soles of shoes) the shoes get worn out very quickly. Again I cannot think of a good reason for not coating the entire bottom of a walking shoe with rubber. WTF amazon. I estimate that these 100 dollar shoes will last 3 months because the tread will wear out quickly on the unprotected portions of the sole (after 1 week I can see the wear). Very disappointed.
