One of the best shoe buys I've ever made, and for the price I couldn't be happier. They are a true fit, and the only thing I've had to 'work out' with them is how tight to tie the laces. Once I realized I shouldn't be lacing them as tight at traditional boots that lace all the way up, I was fine. Extremely comfortable, and surprisingly light on the feet. I would recommend that you condition the leather as soon as possible & definitely before wearing them in any kind of wet weather I like Dr. Martin's Wonder Balsam http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Martens-Dr-Wonder-Balsam/dp/B006QLUH3M/ref=pd_sim_shoe_1 . It's great for protecting & rejuvenating leather I've had one jar since 2002 that I have used religiously on all my leather shoes & messenger bag. A little definitely goes a long way! I plan on buying a pair of these is suede.

As other reviewers mentioned, this is one stiff boot. The fit was fine, and the price fantastic. I wore them for a week and they held up great. But they didn't break in fast enough and gave me serious blisters on my heels. Packed 'em up and dropped them off at goodwill.

I liked the fit/price so well that I bought 2 pair!

The one adjustment I had to make (suggested by another Reviewer) was to Not tighten the laces tight! Others wrote about the leather having less flexibility than desired at the ankles! The solution for me was to keep the laces looser than on other ankle boots that I have (Clark's)! While that option sounds counter-intuitive, the "fit" of the boot holds the foot in place and there is little need to "strap" the boot with the laces!

My thanks to the Reviewer who posted that suggestion!

If the price is good in the Fall I'll likely get another color!

I expected subtle leather but what I got was stiff foot hurting shoe that was a pain to wear. I would send these back and say wear them in for me about ten years and maybe by then they will be soft enough to wear.

I am very happy with these boots. Normally faux suede boots are thin and flimsy but these boots are warm and durable.

I ordered these boots because I have a large foot (size 9). Most of the time, this style of boot makes my feet look huge. I saw these and thought that maybe the knitted boot topper would be a more flattering look. At first look, the boots look very well made and just as they are pictured. However, they run very small and the soles are super stiff. I could not even get the soles to bend at all and the boot was just terribly uncomfortable. I ended up returning these boots, even though I loved the style, because they were just not wearable at all.

EVERYONE that see me in this boots goes "Aww this are cute!" because THEY ARE! They are perfect, cozy and they're not like other booties that slip on wet floors. There are the perfect bootie for fall & spring!

These boots are pretty great. There are some things that I don't like about them:

1. the crochet part is just attached to the top of the boot, and the part underneath is kinda ugly, so you can really only wear them

the way they are pictured.

2. the sole doesn't have very much tread, so slipping on ice might be an issue

3. when you first put them on it takes a minute to break them in because the sole is really stiff

4. the crochet doesn't stay flared out as shown, it sort of sinks into the crease in the ankle

Even though I don't like the things above, you really can't beat the price and they are super cute. Some people might think are bulky looking, but I actually like that. It makes me feel like a snow bunny!

I must say that this shoe (because is to short to be call boot) is lightweight and looks cool; is wide ehought but the inside height in the toes area is narrow, so, you might have to use thight socks whit no extra padding like me (features socks are the ones i use) to feel confortable wearing this shoes.

The size, color and design are all perfect, this is a gift for my boyfriend. We all love the union jack design. But the only one thing not good, if my bf wear it whole day, the boots has a little bit smell. He is ok with other boots, he has a lot of other kind of dessert boots from clarks and cole haan.

I just got my Desert Boot, Union Jack's today and they look just as pictured. Very vintage style and feel.

I went a half size down and they are still a bit too big but nothing major that I cannot get over. They feel amazing on my feet and look even better. Paired them with some darker skinny jeans and I was good to go.

I would say that you should buy this if you are looking for a boot with a good feel and some style. The only reason I give it a 4 out of 5 is that the price is a little steep...

These boots, once I saw them, I had to have. As a man that loves unusual shoes these were the perfect choice. To discover that they are authentic Clarks Desert Boots was an added bonus. I have received multiple compliments from both men and women. The fit is perfect and very comfortable. The only thing to keep in mind is if you are ordering them from Canada the sizing is in UK sizing and you should order a size smaller. I normally wear a size 8 cdn and the size 7 uk fit perfectly. Fantastic shoe.
