Contains vinyl in some spots where I was expecting leather. I also have slightly high arches, and the construction creates two very uncomfortable pressure points where the stitching crosses the arch. I'm hoping that will stretch out. While it wouldn't help me, some people might need a size wider than normal.

At first I thought these boots were the exact thing I was looking for in terms of a plain, grey Chukka. However, you can't tell as much from the pics, but there is a distinct black coloration around the whole tip of the shoe. This appears to be a fad at the moment and one of which I'm not a fan. I wouldn't have ordered them had the pic shown the true coloration.

Also, after walking around my house for several minutes, I determined that these might have the most uncomfortable soles ever. They felt like a nail was right under my heel. If you use inserts, maybe that won't be as pronounced, but these weren't comfy to me.

These could be great boots but the craftmanship is poor. You can see where the leather was cut around the stitching of the boot.I'm giving them 3 stars because my husband thinks they're fine but I pay attention to detail and the boots look weird.

I ordered the three colors based on previous experiences with Steve Madden shoes. Received no problems and as expected.

I've had the shoes for over 2 months now rotating between the three and apart from scuffing on the brown pair, they are living up to expectations. That said, I am not expecting them to last over 18 months. Overall, I'm pleased overall with the shoes.

I have a Sebago pair of boat shoes that I find are very comfortable. These Beacon Boots are the opposite. While the Beacon Boots are quite nice looking, I feel like they forgot to include the insole! Additionally, on cold winter days, the cold just seems to go right through the shoe. I was hoping to wear these when there are just a couple of inches of snow on the ground. My feet are super-freezing and not even wearing double-socks keep my feet warm with these. They'll have to be a summer shoe for me -at least, if I can get over how uncomfortable they feel.
