I have been wearing soft-soled boot mocassins since the 70's, and I have never had to replace any of them until just recently. My brown pair finally got a small hole in one of them, but that's after over 30 years regular use -all OUTDOORS! Including in the rain! Here's the trick: When you first get your mocs, you'll want to season them by only wearing them on grass and dirt for the first little while, avoiding concrete and asphalt during that time. This is important. And don't worry if they get a bit wet either; it actually helps the seasoning process too. Doing this will actually seal the soles so that they develop a shiny, tough surface, resistant to wear. The only problem you'll find with seasoned soles is that you'll lose some traction, but that's negligible. Also, even after you've seasoned the soles, try not to walk on rough concrete when your mocs are wet. This will bring up the grain again and the soles will become vulnerable. If this happens, just season them again and they'll be fine. Thing is, just use your mocs like any hunter or tracker of bygone days would, and remember that every civilization on this planet started out with shoes made of soft leather during their stone age period, so don't think you have to treat your mocs as though they're modern luxury items like opera gloves or something! Just wear 'em and go out and enjoy the great out-of-doors!

I've worn these since high school. Now they're the rage again... Go figure.

If I'm not already wearing these, I keep a pair of these in a zipper bag with me at all times. They fold flat, and weigh next to nothing. I throw them right into my tote bag, or glove compartment. A definite lifesaver on those days when your feet are killing you, or you don't want to ruin the back of your expensive heels driving.

I have news for you, lol. I've worn them outside for, forever...

Even though they're soft, they're pretty tough.

Just don't wear them in the rain or snow, that's all.

I love mine. They're comfy, and they make me smile.

They're a staple...

I love them! MUCH better than going barefoot! Make sure to get a snug fit because the suede will stretch. I wear a size 6.5 and bought a size 5. (Odd how the size 5 is 9.5" from toe to heel and that's a size 6.5 on most shoe brands.) They need to fit like a leather glove. To stretch: fill a balloon with water and put it at the toe area then stick in the freezer. As the frozen water expands, the suede will too. You can also wear very thick socks with them for a few days. Everyone needs a pair of these and they are a true classic!

I use to buy this type of mocassins for my kids when they were babies. Now I buy them for me. Super comfortable, have a bit of sole padding inside the shoe, but you still have to be careful if you're out & about in the outdoors. Laces stay tied, too. They did stretch out a little on me, so next pair of mocs I buy will be a tad smaller, but for now, this is my go-to shoe!

Oh yeah, just like the ones I had in the 70's which never left my feet. I'm getting old, lol, my feet have been though tough times including broken. I wear custom insoles but I'm just fine wearing these. You could use insoles in these if you really needed to but I find I am fine without. I think the flexibility is really helping my feet. Regular shoes don't allow for that which was making my feet become stiff. I was walking more like a duck everyday! I do see improvement in my feet because of the flexibility. I thought I would use them as slippers but no, like the high school days I am wearing the all over the place. They are so comfortable! I didn't find them to be too narrow myself and I sure don't have a skinny foot! Suede will work with your foot and stretch if it needs to. These shoes are extremely durable. I wear then outside all the time. I try not to get them soaked but a little wet is fine. They will last year's upon years which is far more than I can say for my $50+ sneakers!
